At Healing Moments, we believe that counselling is for everyone and is meant to be time limited. Success is determined by you reaching your goals which may include a more balanced life, less conflict or distress, and feeling like you can not only manage but thrive in your life. Once you are satisfied with your progress, you will be able to transition away from therapy with a new sense of confidence and well being.
In counselling, the therapist uses the most appropriate evidence based treatment modality for each client, based on their needs, current challenges or experiences and reasons for seeking counselling. At Healing Moments, counselling services are informed by: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Relational Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Structured Relapse Prevention, Motivational Interviewing and Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Trauma Informed Care and Crisis Intention/Management, specific to suicide and self-harming behaviour.

Counselling is recommended for individuals and families feeling overwhelmed by various life stressors such as unhappiness in relationships, grief and loss, abuse, trauma, conflict, individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses (depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, trauma/PTSD) or experiencing related symptoms. In addition, specialized services offered include: support for problematic substance use or addiction, counselling services for pre/postnatal depression and anxiety and the consequences that result from such experiences.
