What happens on my first visit?

When you book your first appointment, our staff will email you the appropriate intake form for the practitioner and service you booked. You may also find the intake forms here. We recommend you fill it out fully and either email it back to us or bring it with you at your appointment time. Your first appointment will consist of a thorough review of your intake form, presenting issue and medical history. Where indicated, a physical examination of the area of concern will also be conducted as well as an explanation of recommended treatment options. Your practitioner will review consent with you and if you are comfortable and consent to care, you will receive your treatment for the remainder of the time allotted.

What is your cancellation policy?

For massage therapy and chiropractic care, we require 24 hours notice. For naturopathic medicine and counselling, we require 48 hours notice. Your provider sets aside your appointment time specifically for you. If we are given sufficient notice, we may be able to offer this slot to another patient in need. In the even that we are unable to fill the appointment slot and insufficient notice has been given, a fee will apply. If you have an emergency, please let us know so that we can treat your specific situation with personal attention.

Do you direct bill?

We do not currently direct bill. Debit or credit card payment is required date of service, upon which you will be provided with an official receipt from your registered health professional. You may then submit your receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Will I get treated on my first visit?

Yes, once a completed review of your intake form and a physical examination have been conducted and it has been determined that there are no contraindications to care, you will receive a treatment. If any concern is raised during your initial visit, you will be referred to the appropriate health care provider.

How long is the treatment?

For chiropractic care and acupuncture, initial visits are 30-60 minutes in duration. Subsequent visits are 15-30 minutes.

For massage therapy, we do require the initial visit to be 60 minutes. This is because a portion of your first visit will consist of the review of intake form and examination described above. Subsequent visits will be 30-90 minutes in duration and the recommended length of treatment will be discussed with your RMT.

For naturopathic medicine, initial visits are 60-90 minutes in duration and subsequent visits are 30 minutes.

How many visits will I need?

Each patient presents with unique situations which will require individualized care. The length of time recommended will depend on factors such as the severity of the issue, the length of time it has been present and what the patient’s health goals are. We will provide you with recommended treatment plans, recognizing that treatment frequency and duration must work with your time, finances and goals. We are happy to provide both symptomatic and wellness care.
